The Winner Takes It All Nobel Peace Price Award 2007 The winner of Nobel Price for Peace is announced. The Nobel Price Committee decided for Al Gore, the former Vice President of the United States and global warming activist, and the UN Climate Council. Another political decision? Anyway - congratulations! Now Al Gore is in the focus and enjoys attention of all media. And those in the shadow are not seen any longer. How might those guys below feel who were also nominated?
Bono Helumut Kohl Mohammed Ali Bob Geldorf There are others working on the dark side of the moon, also nominated (altogether 181 in 2007) but going to be forgotten before hardly seen:
Rebiya Kadeer Irena Sendler Thich Quang Do Sheila Watt-Cloutier For example, as a young Polish woman Irena Sendler rescued 2500 Jewish children from death - today she's 97 years old. Does somebody know her? Let's rise some questions, which bring us back directly to our inner personal drivers: Am I doing what I am doing to be someone or since I am someone? Who decides who's a winner and who's not? To what extend do I depend on the judgement of any appreciation-committees? Is the nobleness of my personal engagement not even endangered by the throne where it might be put onto? We shouldn't depend on Nobel to be noble! |
