Method: Hermeneutic Dialogue |
|
Coaching is a question of competence and reliance. Therefore it makes sense to make oneself familiar with the working style of the possible coach. I would like to introduce my approach by comparing it with the work of a critic. Here you are the author, who is writing a text but not being fully satisfied yet. |

An Author first and
foremost is creative on an intuitive basis and intends an at first hand
experience on the side of the reading public. The percipient follows his
taste when he decides to finish reading or to put aside the book early.
A critic
examines style and structure of the text. He analyses the plot and
the logic. He connects the text with the author's personality and with
the history. Being translated into terms the text becomes clear.
As a humanist I pursued hermeneutics for more than 8 years. That is an academic discipline to understand literature from its context. Today I apply this method to dialogs: I act as a critic offering a challenging and interpreting attitude.
Dialog's objective
is to help the dialog partner to get a clear picture of his specific
personal and professional circumstances. Looking ahead I am a sparring
partner to reconsider the storyline and to outline the upcoming chapters.
Hermeneutics requires
an area of expertise: A critic who would like to be heard has to
confine himself to certain literary genres and eras. |
